Fuchsia 'Little Cracker'Plants Management Australia (PMA) is pleased to introduce Fuchsia 'Little Cracker', a great little hybrid perennial from the UK.
In fuchsia terms, 'Little Cracker' offers an interesting point of difference in that it is recommended for full sun sites where it does not suffer leaf scorch. Alternatively, it is versatile enough to cope with semi-shaded spots where fuchsias are traditionally placed.
In early spring the first flower buds appear like slender hot pink fire crackers before opening fully to reveal the typical fuchsia skirt of blue mauve petals and projecting white stamens. Flowering continues through to autumn.
With no cutting back necessary and just a feed in early spring with slow release fertiliser, Fuchsia 'Little Cracker' is easily grown and will set off any garden bed, basket or container with its own particular flash and flair.

Contemporary water featuresFor twenty five years or so Tivoli Gardenstone has produced traditionally designed quality products, but now with a change in consumer taste the company is moving forward to reflect the changing influence in design.
Contemporary lines is the theme for Tivoli's new range of water features for the summer season of 2004. The new range was designed for Tivoli by a creative contemporary Australian sculptor and the product of his talents is reflected in the simple practical and refreshingly different water features now on offer. Although the new contemporary product range is competitively priced, it still carries the same traditional quality and service customers know and expect of Tivoli.
The Summer 2004 contemporary water features catalogue is now available. Tivoli will also be on show at the National Hardware and Gardening Show in Melbourne from February 14 to16. Look for us on Stand No: B16 and talk through the advantages of our new and current range of products.

Water Rings to reduce water wasteMany variations have been tried to keep plants in pots moist. Some fail as they retain too much water while others retain too little. Still others are simply too expensive or bulky.
Water Rings use groundbreaking technology to combine traditional capillary matting with super absorbent gel and form a long lasting and efficient pot liner. The rings provide a source of water at root level for up to 10 days while still allowing excess water to drain away.
Water Rings are attractively packaged in four popular sizes to suit most containers, and last for over a year. The task of keeping plants healthy and well watered has now been simplified through the use of Water Rings.

New water retaining fibre liner from Garden TrendHanging baskets have always suffered with the problem of drying out quickly, particularly in hot and windy weather when keeping plants alive under these conditions has always been difficult.
To counter the problem, Garden Trend has just released a new Moulded Coconut Fibre Liner that has an in-built plastic water retainer which fits in the base of the liner. When watering a basket with a normal moulded liner, water pours quickly straight through the basket. But when the new water retaining liners are fitted, water drips slowly away allowing time for the soil to absorb and retain the water. This reduces the frequency of watering and promotes healthy thriving plants.
The liners are available in four sizes to fit round baskets: 25cm, 30cm, 35cm and 40cm and a half liner suitable for a wall 40cm basket.
