The Garden Gurus in 2009

The Garden Gurus programs were amazingly successful in 2008 and will be again in 2009. Trevor Cochrane tells me that they have commitments from Channel 9 for autumn and spring shows on Saturday afternoons. The autumn programs run on Saturday afternoons from March 28 to May 30 inclusive. Eastern states 5pm, WA 5.30pm.

As well as these shows The Gurus are also booked for more of ‘The Gurus Explore’ programs. Their travel shows received loud acclaim in 2008. Details are:

Thailand Part One February 15

Thailand Part Two February 22

Ireland Part One February 29

Ireland Part Two March 8

The WA Best Gardens series TX dates are as below. This show only airs in WA.

Ep 1- March 28

Ep 2- April 4

Ep3- April 11

Ep 4- April 18

Ep 5- April 25

Ep 6- May 2

Virtual Garden Centre Tours

Another bold initiative from The Gurus, in partnership with NGIV, was to initiate the production of a series of ‘Virtual Garden Centre Tours’. These are about a 2 ½ minute film clip looking around the garden centre and highlighting its features. The first of these were filmed last December and will be on the NGIV and The Gurus web sites in February/March. The Gurus are looking to do more so do have a look at the web site and see what you think. The Gurus web site receives plenty of ‘traffic’ so the aim is to encourage that ‘traffic’, customers, to visit the garden centres and buy. That is a great use of technology. www.thegardengurus.tv

Editor’s Note: I will admit to some bias here as I did some work for The Gurus in 2008. However, I do believe that the quality of their programs and their commitment to independent businesses deserves support by the industry.
