Exquisite Garden Wins Top LIAV Award

A million dollar landscape has taken out the top award in the 2007 Victorian Landscape Awards. The Toorak property was developed by Exquisite Gardens, one of Melbourne’s foremost landscape companies.

It was a project that dreams are made of. Sculptures were imported from Spain and a fountain from France. Melbourne’s Granite Works supplied the stone and plants were sourced from all over Australia. Then there were the 16m palms. It took three months to find them and road closures were needed when they were installed. To maintain the garden a massive water storage tank was installed under the lawn area. The project, which took over a year to build, was completed expertly by Exquisite Gardens.

A landscape doesn’t need to be expensive to be awarded Landscape of the Year. Judges are looking for a project that embodies the LIAV’s creed of ‘Quality, Pride and Professionalism’. It could be a small landscape: The quality of the design and construction, the management of the project and the relationships developed during the process are the key criteria.

The Exquisite Gardens landscape in Toorak excelled in all of these criteria. The Victorian Landscape Industries of Victoria is proud to present the best work of their members each year through the Victorian Landscape Awards. The Awards raise the standard of landscape practice throughout the industry. Unfortunately we don’t have space to list all the other winners but some key ones were:
